Senior Statistical Analyst — New York, NY

Reports to: Director Advanced Analytics

Summary of Position:
Execute the analysis phase of market research projects, building predictive models and market simulators.  Implement all multivariate work – mapping, segmentation and related areas.  Consult with internal and external clients to develop analytic plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Discrete choice modeling: program design through data analysis and simulation
  • Implementation of multivariate approaches:  Latent Class regression, segmentation, all types of perceptual mapping
  • Learn and implement new approaches and techniques
  • Strong communication skills to work with project staff and clients to translate statistical concepts into applications

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years marketing research experience with market research vendor running statistical analysis/models
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High degree of comfort with standard statistical packages (SPSS, Sawtooth, Latent Gold, R)
  • Conceptual understanding of standard multivariate approaches (correlation, regression, factor, segments)
  • Strong Excel skills, including statistical/logic functions and Visual Basic (VBA) programming experience
  • Ability to translate complex statistical techniques into actionable business recommendations
  • Experience with questionnaire development and best practices
  • At ease working with large data sets
  • Data precision:  incorporates internal data checks
  • Can see ‘past the numbers’
  • Willing to apply concepts creatively, rather than ‘by the book’
  • Critical thinking:  ‘if it looks wrong, it is wrong’


  • Minimum Bachelor’s, preferably Master’s Degree in field incorporating quantitative methods (Statistics, Social Sciences, Market Research, etc.)
