Statistical Analyst — New York, NY

Summary of Position:

Execute the analysis phase of market research projects, building predictive models and market simulators.  Implement all multivariate work – mapping, segmentation and related areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Familiarity and Experience with at least two of the following:
    1.  Standard Multivariate techniques (regression, correlation, factor analysis, analysis of variance, etc.)
    2.  Segmentation techniques
    3.  Trade-off models (MaxDiff, DCM, etc.) – design, analysis and simulations
  • Interest and ability to learn/implement new approaches and techniques
  • Work with project staff to translate statistical concepts into applications

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with standard statistical packages (SPSS, R)
  • Conceptual understanding of standard multivariate approaches (correlation, regression, factor, segmentation)
  • Strong Excel skills, including statistical/logic functions and Visual Basic (VBA) programming experience
  • Data precision:  incorporates internal data checks
  • Can ‘automate’ repetitive tasks
  • Data Savvy
  • Can see ‘past the numbers’
  • Willing to apply concepts creatively, rather than ‘by the book’
  • Can apply approaches across studies – ‘if it works here, it ought to work there’
  • Curiosity:  Wants to learn, understand and appropriately apply new approaches
  • Critical thinking:  ‘if it looks wrong, it is wrong’
  • Strong communication skills


Minimum Bachelor’s, preferably Master’s Degree in field incorporating quantitative methods (Statistics, Social Sciences, Market Research, etc.)
